Noisy Road Construction Metal Plates Are Annoying Steve Lookner

Steve Lookner has posted a live stream video entitled “This Is Driving Me CRAZY” to his relatively new Lookner channel on YouTube:

In this video, Steve is using his phone to record a live stream from the streets of Atlanta near his apartment. He’s filming from the sidewalk near an in-progress building construction site, and shows us some large metal plates that have been put over holes that have been excavated into the road.

When cars and other vehicles drive over the plates, it can sometimes make loud thumping or thudding noises. It doesn’t happen for every vehicle that drives over the plate, but it does happen often enough and it’s loud enough for Steve to find the noises to be very annoying. It can apparently happen all day and all night.

He explains how he has tried to contact city officials to try to get the problem dealt with, but he has not yet had any luck actually getting it fixed. He thinks it might take months before it’s resolved. To try to limit the impact of the noise on his everyday life, Steve mentions that he uses white noise machines.

I can definitely see how he could find those noises to be disruptive and annoying. They did happen often enough while he was filming his live stream, which was a few seconds shy of 30 minutes long. Good luck with this problem, Steve!
